Velox Products Pty Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of J. Bazzano and Sons Pty Ltd, a privately owned company founded in 1935 and still under family management. For over 60 years Velox Products have been manufacturing innovative, top quality letterboxes for Australian households and business premises. It all started back in 1935 when Jack Bazzano and his two sons, Leo and Charles, decided there was a demand for ‘brick in’ style letterboxes. Leo came up with the first designs, and production began. Our first customer was the Traversi Jones store at Ashfield, where young Charles Bazzano would ride his bike for several miles to collect the orders. Charles was a former Olympian and the exercise helped him maintain his fitness. During the early 1960’s, an employee, Peter Spinelli, designed a revolutionary ‘draw bolt’ method of letterbox assembly, which is still in use today. This enables full intercharge and exchange of components, should they be damaged or require renewal, without the need to remove the box from a brick wall. During the 1970’s and 80’s, Managing Director, Eddie Bazzano was responsible for many design changes to the brick in letterbox. In recent times, Velox have responded to consumer demand with the introduction of our Heritage Freestanding Letterbox range, featuring the ‘Pagoda’ and ‘Federation’ designs. These unique new designs with their identifying markings cast into the product, rather than a stick-on transfer, have been readily accepted and sought for by name in the marketplace. The Velox Letterboxes are backed by a 10 Year Warranty, and after 67 years in the business, we have every confidence in our claim that our products are not only “The Last Word in Letterboxes” but also “Cast to Last”, a trademark proudly displayed for over 65 years. |
